Glenn Gould Playing the Goldberg Variations
GLENN GOULD PLAYS (from 'The Alchemist'): - Lords of Salisbury Pavan by Orlando Gibbons Galliard No.6 by William Byrd Suite, Op.25, ... all » Intermezzo by Arnold Schoenberg Variations, Op.27 by Anton Webern Sonata, Op.1 by Alban Berg - from the film by Bruno Monsaingeon Directed by François-Louis Ribadeau
Glenn Gould is one of my favorite musicians. The first time I knew about the Canadian pianist was from the documentary [Thirty Two Short Films About Glenn Gould](1993).I was really impressed by the free spirit in [Goldberg Variations], which is so different to what I know about Bach (I'm saying this as one ordinary person not know much about classic music.) After years the scene that Glenn Gould climbed out of the broadcast station in the North is still vivid to me.
